Today this Mastodon post reminded me of that.

I’ve considered it arrogant that for decades US-citizens refer to themselves as Americans, and call their country America, or in the silly bragging-mode which sometimes can be seen on forums Murica.

Arrogant and confusing it is because the whole continent from Argentina to Canada is called America. Step down from your high horses. Language usage is very important.

I am sure that lots of folks especially in South- and Center-America parts of the continent will be grateful for this correction in language usage.

US of A, USA, USians, US-citizens.

It is not that difficult.
